There is no meeting this Friday as it is Good Friday, but it is the last date for entering the Phone Competition in memory of Pete Lovatt. You are able to enter 6 images, taken on a phone or a tablet.  Images should not exceed 1600 x 1200px. Enter images in order of priority.  If we have too many, entry 6 and possibly entry 5 will be removed. The images will be judged by voting among the members attending the meeting on 12th April.

This is a change to the published progamme

December 2004 saw a massive undersea earthquake send a wave of water over 20 Metres high rushing towards the Sumatran coast, in western Indonesia. I was assigned to document the disaster and the massive unfolding relief effort, returning many times over the next 10 years. My dramatic images were used worldwide by Oxfam, the UN and other agencies to illustrate the disaster, the need and the successes of the intervention that saved countless lives

HAND IN FOR "THREE" COMPETITION

Every year a number of Merseyside Clubs are invited to take part in this print competition run by South Liverpool PS. Each club arranges an evening and a judge for their round of the competition. The final round is held at South Liverpool PS where the scores from all the rounds are added up and awards made.  Last year, Hoylake came 2nd, and Robert Devenish's print of a Linnet was judged the overall best print.

But what do you do when the weather isn't perfect for photography - some suggestions are made of subjects and techniques to employ when the light is dull or when the sun shines too brightly.  In this lecture, you will see images that depict the interactions of people, architecture, nature and landscape reflecting my wide photographic interests..

An evening of discussion and demonstration to ensure all have basic knowledge of cameras, terms focus and exposure.

We are hoping to help everyone get acquainted with their cameras and basic functions.  So, bring your camera and the instruction manual -paper copy or downloaded onto your phone or tablet.  Sue, Anthony and Les will be there to help people with different camera types, as will everyone else.  We all have a variety of cameras and we want to make using  them simple.
