Judge: Dave Jones CPAGB HNWPA
I started my journey into photography around 2008 shortly before I took early retirement. I joined Hawarden C.C. as a novice having not done any film work. In 2010 I became the chairman of Deeside P.S. and worked with my good friend Keith Wilbraham for several years with the aim to put D.P.S. on the photographic map. Looking back I think I can say that we achieved that.
My first camera was the Nikon D80 before moving on to D300 and finally D800. Over the last 3years I have changed from Nikon to Olympus starting with OMD Em ii and recently upgraded to OM-1.
Over the years I have been proud to represent the club as Delegate, comp Sec, Vice President and President of the NWPA. For all this it was an honour to be nominated and accepted in 2021 for exceptional service in Photography in North Wales and am very proud to add HNWPA to my letters.
I enjoy a very broad Style of photography which includes Landscapes, Macro, Still life, people. B&W/Mono, Sport and wildlife.
Lastly in the last 5years I have had the pleasure of joining the ranks of Judges which gives me the privilege of seing the exceptional work of the many gifted photographers around the country
