Welcome to Hoylake Photographic Society

Founded in 1950, our society has grown into a lively, friendly community of photography enthusiasts. We meet at Newton Village Hall in Grange Cross Lane, West Kirby, Wirral (CH48 8BJ), and we’re always delighted to welcome visitors and new members.

We’re a sociable group of amateur photographers who share a passion for the art of photography and for improving our skills together. Over the years, we’ve met in a few different places, but Newton Village Hall has been our happy home for some time now.

Our Meetings

  • Friday Nights (September–May): Every Friday from 7:30pm to 10pm, we enjoy a varied programme including expert guest speakers, photo presentations, and club competitions. It’s a chance to be inspired, learn something new, or simply enjoy great photography from some of the best amateur photographers in the UK. You can find full details on our Programme page
  • Wednesday Nights: On alternate Wednesdays at 7:30pm, we get together for more informal sessions. These evenings are perfect for tutorials, sharing work, and receiving helpful, constructive feedback. On the programme, these are marked as WNG (Wednesday Night Group).
